The road between Itambé do Mato Dentro and Ipoema is differentiated by views of the Serra do Lobo, the Serra dos Linhares and the Serra dos Alves. At km 12.5, they come into view side-by-side. The leg to Ipoema is 31.6 kms long. The town of Senhora do Carmo is the perfect place for the traveler to stop for rest to break up this long stretch of the journey. One of the main attractions of 18th century Senhora do Carmo, is the hamlet of Serra dos Alves, with its cristalline waterfalls. One of them, Boa Vista, crosses the way. The road finally arrives in the district of Ipoema, closely tied to the history of the tropeiros, who passed through this region with caravans of provisions to supply the region. Some of the principal attractions found in this bucolic place are the Museum of the Tropeiros, the hamlet of Macuco, and the many waterfalls, especially Cachoeira Alta, with its 110 meter drop.
