A largely off track exploration to the North of Carnarvon Gorge based on detail from Charles Warner's 1987 book 'Exploring Queensland Central Highlands'. This is a technically challenging and physically demanding walk in a rugged and remote area. There are complex navigation, route finding and scrambling problems to solve (we used a rope belay at several points).

Day 1 starting around mid-day, including main Gorge track and side tacks finishing just before the Island.
Day 2 circumnavigation of the Island, exploration of Nabooloo Gorge, ascent via Nabooloo Ridge to Consuelo Tableland finishing at the Cabbage Tree Springs.
Day 3 Ascent of Black Alley Peak, and then back onto Consuelo to finish at the great walk campsite
Day 4 Followed the great walk track finishing at the Eastern end of Devils Ridge, allowing time to explore the escarpment and find some great view points of the Devil's Signpost.
Day 5 Descent via Boolimba Bluff.
