близу Be Mawi, Bomi (Liberia)

The hike starts at the old mining cast (Blue Lake) and there is plenty of space for parking. In the dry season there will be visitors coming from Monrovia to have a swim.

In the rainy season it is more deserted. The first stretch through the old mining sites has a lot of vegetation during the wet season and the roads are more like small streams The path is easy to find and continues all the way down to the old railway track of Liberia's first long distance railway, the 148 km long Mano River Railway, which was built in 1960. It connected the western mining areas on the Mano River with Monrovia, via the city of Tubmanburg.

After a while of hiking on the railway you will turin into small roads passing a cople of viliges on the way back to the Blue Lake. Just before the lake you can reach the peak and the radio tower via a small service road.

In the dry season there is a possibility to continue along the ridge and head back to the Blue Lake Beach without returning on the service road.

It is highly recommended to end the hike with a swim in the Blue Lake.
