18+ miles round trip but not a difficult hike. The route features easy to moderate grades with good footing. The water levels were low today, hence the two stream crossings were easy. The rock scramble is easy for humans but difficult for dogs and Zippy had to be lifted up. Otherwise it is a great route for dogs with water available most of the way.

There exists no faster, smoother, straighter trail in the east. Follows an old logging railroad grade.
Nice Bridge. Divides Lincoln Woods Trail and Wilderness Trail.

Trail turns right (if heading up) at a dry stream bed and decends about 50' in the stream bed. Then it turns left and begins ascending again. This is at about 2800' elevation.
After that scramble Zippy deserved some water and a snack.
