From Cowan Station cross the tracks to the platform where you will find signs to the "Great North Walk". Follow these signs and begin your hike northward along this Track which is very well signed. Continue past Jerusalem Bay and ascend the Track on the other side until you come to a sign indicating the direction of Brooklyn Dam and Jerusalem Bay, here you will enter the Trail leading to Taffy's Rock.

The Trail is marked out by cairns and care must be taken to follow these all the way to Taffy's. Along the way you should come past two old Trig Stations (a good place to store water for the return trip) about 1.4km and 2.6km from the beginning of the cairn marked trail respectivley. Once you get to Taffy's rock and start to descend to Fishermans Beach phone reception will be lost and finding the cairns becomes quite tricky, you will need a gps and/or GOOD map and compass to navigate down to the beach. I lost the cairns about half way down and did some bush bashing through fairly thick scrub the rest of the way. There are some ledges so care must be taken on the way down.

-Water about 3L each way
-Parking is abundant at the station
-Best done in Autumn
-Take good navigational equipment
-Take a torch
-Start as early as you can
-Expect it to take you about 4.5 hrs each way
-Take Gaitors
-Moderate level of fitness
