The Lincoln Bomber wreck remains well preserved and free of looting largely due to the difficulty posed by dragging pieces out. To actually get to the walk starting location you need a 4Wd. There are multiple Creek crossings along Emu Creek Rd, with the last one even challenging vehicles with high clearance. The walk up to the wreck isn't that great terrain wise. The trail is confusing with ribbons all over the place where previous parties have attempted to avoid getting lost. Nettles and stinging trees line the edge of the track with many thorny vines and bushes also present. Take the path of least resistance till you arrive at a creek crossing. Just downstream from this point is a waterfall worth checking out. The track from here heads very steeply up the edge of a gully. Take care to stay in this gully or close by it and eventually you will arrive at the crash site. Numerous pieces of the wreck litter the Gully on the way up. If using my gps track to find the crash site make sure you take the most northern line as my party got lost on the way up. The crash site is not quite at the top of the hill which affords very limited views. Retrace your steps back to the vehicles when you have sufficiently scoped out the crash site.
