I have added this route up Logans to show the alternate access to the start and also a faster way off SE ridge to the southern base of Yellowpinch. This hike was in the middle of summer and to beat the heat we started at 5am, 2.5 hours to the top, 2hours down, back at the cars before 10am.

    Nice :)
The track finding routines give 150m tolerance,
so it doesn't complain about any deviation from Logan's:

Time might be distorted there unless your GPS logs at
regular intervals. This just plays your GPX frame by frame.

It got approved by Apple, and is available for free in the App Store for iPhones. This GPX is the built in demonstration (auto hiker) which plays in simulation mode. Thanks again :)

Hi xArtx, I've looked for your app but couldn't find it. What is it called?

Hi, it's called AVEC GPS, but you can search "Mt Barney" too.

Any tips on how to do this one so quickly? Havnt done Logans, done SE twice. Descended it on my first Barney trip and kept hitting dead ends. Definately simple to ascend though. Did North Ridge last week so figured this is the next step.

Logan's is not that much more technically harder than SE and a lot shorter. I feel the best round trip is Logans / North ridge. More time up top and less time walking down low. I've been trying to get to the top in less than 2 hours but have succeeded yet, may be this year. There is a few ridges that can give a bit of exposure. However there is always a gully next to it that offers a bit more security if your a bit squeamish about the exposure.
