близу  Pyhrn, Styria (Austria)

If you're coming from North (Vienna, Linz or Salzburg) take the A9 direction Graz, exit in Spital am Pyhrn, follow the Pyhrnpass Strasse 138.

Google maps tricked us and sent us a bit up to a closed road, but instead of turning back, we parked the car and started to walk there. But if you prefer you can park the car in Wurzeralm Standseilbahn Hinterstoder - Talstation / Intersport. From here you can walk up straight or take the cable car (Prices: http://www.hiwu.at/wurzeralm/en/winter/tickets-passes/low).

Once we reached the Wurzeralm cable car - Upper terminus we looked up and clouds were covering the highest point of this area - Warscheneck (2388m). Our plan was to do a circular trail, walking a bit to the Frauenkarabfahrt/Panoramaabfahrt trail or even catch the chairlift Frauenkar (1870m) uphill to Widerlechnerstein (2017m) and then reach Warscheneck (2388m). The way back was planed to be trough Toter Mann (2131m) and pass in Rote Wand (1872 m).

Since the visibility above 2000m was none, we just went up to Rote Wand (1872 m) passing in Brunnsteiner See (1422m) and back.

Be sure to bring the appropriate hiking gear since most of the time you're walking in a trail full of loose limestones.
