Itinerary description
A popular walk that has been done for nearly 50 years now, the N 70 circular walk around Berg en Dal. To characterize the track the best way is to say that it is up and down, and up and down. After all, Berg en Dal already suggests this: mountain and valley :)
The popularity must simply be due to the terrific, un-Dutch character of the landscape and the wide variety of views. It's also a fantastic training track for those who go to mountainous regions for their holidays.
Looking at the track on the map, one may wonder if this is perhaps a bit similar, walking west or walking east. But appearances are deceptive, you have really no idea that you have been walking sometimes perhaps less than 100 meters away, on the other side.
Much recommended this walk all in all. For some the track will be easy, for others perhaps moderate, but never difficult.
One more tip: the official track from the village of Beek takes the footpath along the main road up the hill with a wide bend to the right, as you will see here on the track. However, if you want to avoid unnecessary traffic (noise) , keep walking and turn right just a little further on, into Keteldal.
The road up the hill doesn't offer any splendid extras so you won't miss a thing.
Keteldal is simply quieter along a narrow road .
